Caitlin: "When I first came to NZ I had a dream to tame and ride some wild horses around the country and after 2 weeks my dream came true. I had been taming and training horses for many years using natural and gentle methods... a horse whisperer, you could say.

Years later I went back to the wild horse sale and bought 2 more of these incredibly hardy and beautiful St James horses. Now some 15 years on, I have 25 horses and ponies, some for the children, some totally wild Kaimanawas; the wild mustangs of NZ. We are promoting this intelligent and hardy breed to prevent their extinction as the government are all out to cull them and use their habitat in the North Island as an Army training area.

We are now in touch with many wild horse sanctuaries around the world with a common goal of saving the last few remaining wild horses... after all the wild horse represents symbolically the spirit of the Earth"
